On Going Projects

TuShirikishe

TuShirikishe is a grassroots-led project aimed at increasing the participation of women and youth in electoral and governance processes, strengthening civic awareness, and peaceful coexistence in Mandera East. Mandera East has a population of 296,281 persons, of whom 72 percent are below the age of 35 years (Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, 2023).

The county consistently ranks among Kenyas most underserved regions in terms of governance participation. This project will establish community-based civic dialogue hubs using safe space methodologies and train 30 local civic peace champions.

These youth facilitators will lead structured dialogue forums and civic education sessions using visual and story-based learning tools in Borana and Somali languages. The content will focus on democratic rights, public service accountability, and peacebuilding.
With funding from the Ireland Embassy in Kenya, the project will run for the next 10 months
